Manoir Bruit is the sound creation programme of association Bruit, in collaboration with Haus am Gern and Château de Sibra.
From 13 to 22 August 2025, Biel/Bienne-based sound artist, researcher, and violinist HannaH Walter took part in a residency at Manoir Bruit in Sibra, France, as the fifth guest of the programme.
The resulting work is now already accessible via the Locus Sonus livestream as well as on the Bruit webpage – blending with the surrounding sounds of the park of the Chateau de Sibra.

La toute petite maison de la sorcière
Die Kompos(T)ition dauert 12h und kann von 10h00 bis 22h00 von einem lokalen Publikum auf dem Gelände des Schloss Sibra und von einem verteilten Publikum auf Locus Sonus gehört werden.
Das Soundfile besteht aus 11 verschiedenen ungeschnittenen Szenen, die jeweils durch den Klang des Öffnens der Tür zum Manoir Bruit voneinander getrennt sind. Die Szenen wurden mit Ohr und Mikrofon während der 8 Tage Residenz auf dem Schlossgelände aufgenommen.
Die zwei-seitige Score zeigt photographische analoge und digitale Momentaufnahmen (unseres) Lebens zwischen Schloss und Manoir Bruit.
Den 11 Klangszenen (Soundscapes) ist jeweils ein Photo des Score zugeordnet.

The composition lasts 12 hours and can be heard from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. by a local audience on the grounds of Sibra Castle and by a distributed audience on Locus Sonus.
The sound file consists of 11 different uncut scenes, each separated by the sound of the door to Manoir Bruit opening. The scenes were recorded with ear and microphone during the 8-day residency on the castle grounds.
The two-page score shows photographic analog and digital snapshots of (our) life between the castle and Manoir Bruit.
Each of the 11 soundscapes is assigned a photo from the score.
