Intermittence: Social Insurance for Cultural Workers in Switzerland. How Does it Work?

Since 2003, unemployment insurance has recognized a special status for cultural workers with short-term contracts and multiple employers: intermittent status. A crucial safety net in the face of growing precarity in the cultural world — accessible to all artists and cultural workers in Switzerland, but still largely unknown and underused.

It’s time to change that, together. This evening will introduce this social security mechanism, along with its concrete rights and obligations. Artists and cultural workers in Switzerland: this concerns you directly. Come along!

With Jeannine Hirzel, musician (Zurich) · Jonas Kocher, musician, organiser (Biel/Bienne) · Cyril Bondi, musician, organiser (Geneva) and Frantz Loriot, musician, organiser (Zurich).
