Anna-Kaisa is a versatile musician, both performer and composer, who plays the viola da gamba and the organ. Her projects often sit at the crossroads of different musical languages, such as early music and experimental or freely improvised music. She is interested in performative and collective processes, as well as in the question of responsibility towards the environment and the audience.
In her works for solo viola da gamba, she explores a wide sonic spectrum across the history of the instrument, ranging from melodic fragments to the sounds of the wood, by way of various noises.
In 2019, she was artist in residence at the Embassy of Foreign Artists in Geneva, where she developed the installation “Compos(t)ing Music,” inspired by the writings of Donna Haraway. In 2021, she received a composition commission from the Duo Bondi-Alvear and, in 2024, from the Mondrian Ensemble (premiere in 2025). She has recorded compositions by Magnus Granberg, Adrian Demoč , Christoph Schiller, Michael Pisaro and Cyril Bondi&D’incise.
