Christian Kesten is a composer, vocalist and performer. He has received commissions from international ensembles and realized full-length works in stage spaces such as Radialsystem V Berlin, Schauspielhaus Wuppertal, Théâtre 2.21 Lausanne and at festivals in Beijing, Copenhagen, New York, Los Angeles, etc. He has shown his solo performances for voice, body, objects and video in Europe, North and South America, Japan and China. Kesten is a member of the experimental vocal and music performance ensemble Maulwerker and conceives the annual series »maulwerker performing music« at Ballhaus Ost. He co-curates the series Labor Sonor for experimental music, film and performance and is artistic co-director of the transdisciplinary Labor Sonor festivals.
