Sebastian Rotzler was born in 1968 and taught himself classical and experimental music. He later studied at the Swiss Jazz School in Bern and at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland. His work focuses on experimental sound art and includes installations, performances, concerts and visual works. These works explore listening spaces and challenge listening habits, while remaining rooted in the traditions of composition and music. On stage, he works with numerous representatives of free improvisation, is involved in interdisciplinary projects and performs as a soloist. His work has been supported and honoured by Pro Helvetia, the Canton of Bern, the City of Biel/Bienne and the Canton of Solothurn, among others.
